Goals

Our project was designed to enhance the coverage of diversity-related information in Introduction to Psychology. Existing texts for Introduction to Psychology vary in the depth of information relating to diversity. Most research that is reviewed in Introduction to Psychology is not gathered on diverse populations and therefore provides a biased picture of human psychology.

The goal of our project was to provide topic-specific units of information and experiential activities that faculty can add to the existing course sections, thereby providing greater depth and discussion of diversity issues. The students who will learn from this project are those enrolled in the 20 or so sections of Introduction to Psychology each year. These students are typically first or second year students.
