“Digital Storytelling with Photo Story 3 does more than ‘make show-n-tell cool again’ (as Microsoft boasts) when it serves your learning objectives, appeals to diverse learning styles, creates a buzz in your department, makes student learning visible and provides an alternate way to teach and assess work.”
Context
Digital technology has revolutionized the way we teach and learn, and, thankfully, one does not have to be a technological wizard to incorporate digital storytelling into the classroom. With emerging multimedia tools affordable and accessible to all, students are equipped to tell a story. I have incorporated digital projects into several of my classes both to meet my learning objectives and to reinforce the importance of student expression. While the majority of the assignments I present in this CATL gallery were done in my foreign language courses, the objectives and guidelines may be applied to any discipline.
