I chose to write my paper on why the modern America is becoming less patience. This topic came to my attention because my oldest sister Emily has the following four words on the inside of her computer. Self Control, Patience Humble and Kind. Those same four words are written and taped to the inside of my computer as well. They not only remind myself to try to follow these four virtues everyday, but is also a daily reminder that even though she's not always here in person, acting on these four words makes it feel like she is. 

 I also wanted to explore the possibility of if during the Civil Rights Movement, the patience tolerance was higher than that of today's society. I did this by using examples from the book, Why We Can't Wait by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
