About Me

My name is Jasmine McLellan, a sophomore at Elon University. I’m a stereotypical college student; procrastinating every assignment, ignoring the laundry I have piling up, and living off of ramen that I cook in a mug. Originally, I’m from Vermont, which is not a part of Canada, a very common misconception people seem to have. Currently, I’m sharing my living space with Todd, my beta fish. I have an affinity for flamingos, I'm a food network fanatic, and I REALLY love spicy chicken wings.

After my diagnosis of hip dysplasia when I was 17, I became more aware of my physical and emotional health. Meditation, volunteerism, and exercise became essential parts of my everyday lifestyle. My relationships with my family and friends became stronger, their significance becoming substantive. One of the things that I value most is the connection that I create with the people around me.

My love of travel and fascination with different cultures has encouraged my decision to major in anthropology. By triple minoring in philosophy, history, as well as peace and conflict studies, I am enabling myself to create a path that encourages my ambitions.
