Environmental Stewardship & Writing

The work documented in this section of my portfolio highlights experiences that have combined my English (Professional Writing & Rhetoric) and Environmental Studies majors. Through collaborative projects working with community partners including the Conservators' Center in Mebane, North Carolina, and Environmental Studies Department at Elon University, I have applied my professional writing and rhetorical skills to practical, environmentally-focused client consulting projects.

Though distinct in their respective purposes and contexts, these projects are characterized by several distinct similarities. First, both were collaborative client consulting projects through which I worked with a team of students to execute a semester-long project. In both cases, our work centered on promoting environmental values: conservation, education, and rescue, in the case of the Conservators' Center, and sustainable development in the case of Elon's Environmental Studies Department. Finally, although the deliverables generated by each project differ drastically, both represent extensive, co-written documents produced as the culmination of client consulting experiences.
