It can be argued that the audience is the most important aspect of rhetoric. The content must be directed to them, predict and involve their response, and ultimately gets altered based on that response. In my Client Work section, I use the experiences in which I created some sort of document, received feedback from my client, and then revised it into a final product.

I had a lot of client work in my years at Elon. For one of my classes I was put on a three-person team to write that semester's The Back Cover, Elon's English Department's newsletter. This became an educational experience in both collaboration and working with a client who happened to be our professor. This is the first document that I have included. For another class my team was given a school's parent handbook and supplementary materials to revise and copyedit. As another collaborative experience, it gave me a chance to work with a 'real' client, a school, and more editing experience. These documents consist of the fully revised and edited handbook, a calendar-style planning sheet, and a daily note, which is what the teachers would send home with the children. The Association for Business Communication gave one of my classes the opportunity to reimagine their social media plan, which gave us all another chance to work with an organization. This document will include our group's collaborative efforts in producing suggestions and possible opportunities the organization could pursue. For my internship with Stahls', I have included the draft of a powerpoint that was to be presented to the NHL and blog posts I wrote for the company's blog. For the powerpoint, I had two audiences; one was the NHL (who I would not receive feedback from) and the other was my supervisor.
