PURM published four articles and one book review in its inaugural issue (published online). I have provided a few screenshots of one of the articles, "The Challenges and Rewards of Community-Based Research and Scholarly Engagement" by Lancaster et al., in its various stages. The order of images illustrates the editing/revision process: the original text, text with my edits and comments, text with the managing editor's edits and comments, and the article as it appeared upon publication.
Most of my edits concern grammar and punctuation, as well as other APA and PURM style guide points, per the organizational editing parameters I discussed in my contextual narrative. I should also note that as part of my personal process, I used a highlighter to mark each handwritten edit in the document as I transferred it to the electronic copy of the manuscript; this helped me ensure I had not missed anything in the transfer.
The comments I wrote on this manuscript also occasionally express uncertainty or confusion: this is the result of the fact that the PURM style guide was still being created at that time, and some points needed to be discussed with the managing editor.
